Your precious bundle of joy has arrived, and there’s no better time to capture those tiny details than within the first two weeks of life. Newborns change so quickly, and those first moments are truly fleeting—this is when every little finger, every delicate feature, is worth preserving forever.
At JEDM Photography, my focus is always on capturing the unique beauty of your newborn, no matter where the session takes place. Whether we’re in the studio, outdoors, or in the comfort of your home, I’ll work to preserve every sweet detail that makes your little one so special.
All sessions (except for minis) include a phone consultation, so we can make sure your vision is clear and that you’re comfortable with the plan for the shoot. Studio sessions typically offer a variety of setups, props, and wraps, but feel free to bring any special items, like blankets, heirlooms, or toys, that you'd like to incorporate into the session.
Outdoor sessions will depend on the weather, and while props may be used, the focus will always be on capturing your newborn in the beauty of nature. Home sessions offer a cozy, intimate way to document your little one in their own nursery—making it easier for mom and dad and creating a relaxed environment.

QUESTIONS:
What happens after I book?

a phone consultation (excluding mini's) to discuss the style of photos you are looking for, potential locations(s),

a questionnaire about your pet’s likes/dislikes and a copy of your contract which must be completed and returned, along with deposit, to confirm your session. Final payment must be made 7 days prior to your session date.

Full cancellation refunds will be made up to 5 days prior to your scheduled date.

I make every effort to ensure your pet is comfortable, relaxed and happy through the entire process.
What if I have a specific pose I want?
I will try my best to get the poses you request, but no pose can be guaranteed. Every baby has their own needs and preferences and your baby’s comfort and safety is my first priority. If baby is distressed or unsettled we will simply move on from that pose into something equally sweet that your baby finds comfortable. A baby leads the session, to allow your little one to stay comfortable and content throughout their session
When Should I Book My Session?
It is important to book your newborn session as soon as possible, for when they will be 10 or 12 days old. It is best to tentatively book your baby’s session for one week after your due date, If your little one arrives early or late we will move the sessions to accommodate.
I can shoot with older babies, the session becomes much more challenging and some poses are not possible because your baby’s cartilage is hardening and he/she is growing strong bones and muscles.

What’s the difference between props and table top pose?
Props:
Often used in newborn photography and other forms of portrait photography, props are physical elements added to a setting with the subject for stylistic or emotional effect. Props can signify the subject's uniqueness, showcase an aspect of the subject's personality, or be there for aesthetic purposes.
Table top pose
Is the use of either, or the combination of table, bean bags, pillows, blankets to pose and help keep a baby safe and cozy during the session. Table top poses are baby only or baby and parents hands.
What if I don't want pictures posted?
If there are specific photos that are sensitive (such as nursing or nude, bare bum etc.) and you wish them not to be posted publicly I of course will respect your wishes. I tend to only post a couple of sneak peeks on my social media/website to showcase my work. Please be sure to notify me anytime prior, during or even after the session.
What if my baby needs to be fed, diaper change, makes a mess?
No worries. The needs of your wee one are the top priority. If baby is getting hungry, we can pause for a bottle or nursing session. If you would like, I can continue shooting during this time as some of the most tender moments captured are during time of feeding.
I recommend feeding your baby just before arrival but please do not stress if nothing goes to plan, babies have their own schedule.
Most photos can be done with diapers on, and for ones with diapers off... well, we hope, and if accidents happen, we tidy up and move forward.
How Do I Access My Photos After the Session?
Once your session is complete and your photos have been edited, I’ll upload the final images to my website, where you'll receive a direct link to view your private album. From there, you can browse through your photos, choose the specified number of images included in your package, and create your selection list.
Once you've made your choices, I’ll send you a download link for your digital album, so you can access and enjoy your images anytime you’d like!

What if I would like more pictures than the package states?
That is not a problem. Even if you decide after the shot. Most often there are more shots which will posted to your private online gallery. We can discuss adding to your package or purchase additional digital images.
